Ward Five - Pam Coachman

Pam Coachman was victorious in her first attempt at public office and calls her area of the city - Ward 5 - “alive.” She is looking forward to being “a voice for all of Ward 5 on the Bradenton City Council," and adds that she will "advocate for progress across the City of Bradenton," and "make equity real for everyone."

One of her biggest priorities is to improve communication between Bradenton’s residents and its elected officials. To that end, she’d like to hold town chats within Ward 5 and provide an open-door atmosphere.

Additionally, she cites previous work in the areas of speech & language pathology, medical and public schools, and a juvenile pretrial intervention program as experiences that taught her that “active listening, collaboration, smart planning, & resourcefulness” which are some of the qualities that she believes are needed in an elected official.

“I bring those to this position,” she says. “I believe that it’s not about ‘I or Me’ but about ‘You and Us’”.

Ms. Coachman is a fourth-generation Bradenton native, a graduate of Manatee High School and a member of the school’s Hall of Fame. She has a Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from University of South Florida.

She is an active member of Ward Temple A.M.E. Church. She serves as an officer of the Church, an usher, and a youth department advisor. She is a member of the Florida Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists and a member of the American Association of University Women.
