Ward Three - Vice Mayor Josh Cramer
Josh Cramer is serving his first term in elected office, taking over Ward Three from long-time Councilman Patrick Roff. But Councilman Cramer is no stranger to public service. His recent retirement from the Bradenton Police Department after 27 years of service is proof of that. He began his career in 1995 in the Patrol Division at BPD and, over the next 27 years, served as a Field Training Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain, before retiring as Assistant Chief.
His love for our city and his desire to improve Bradenton led him to the Councilman’s seat. Important issues he sees Bradenton facing are safe neighborhoods, growth, improving our infrastructure, and continuing to build a first-class workforce. He wants to continue serving our citizens and employees by collaborating with constituents to learn about critical community issues.
His experience at BPD during significant events, from Presidential Inaugurations to helping plan and coordinate the Bradenton Area River Regatta and Heritage Festival Parade, will serve him well on the Council. He was also active as the Emergency Operations Commander for BPD during hurricanes. These roles had one common thread – working together for safe, successful outcomes.
Councilman Cramer graduated from Florida State University in 1994 with a degree in Criminology. He is a member of Bradenton Kiwanis and is on the Board of Governors of Leadership Manatee. He has been married for nine years and enjoys golfing in his spare time.
