Residential Garbage Collection Information

The City of Bradenton provides twice-weekly garbage collection to its residents. In addition to the curbside collection, the Solid Waste Division provides specialized services such as bulk collections and roll-off container service.

Garbage Collection Guidelines

Household trash is collected twice weekly (Mondays and Thursdays, or Tuesdays and Fridays, depending on your address).
Trash must be placed curbside no later than 6:00 a.m. on your collection day.
Place the container within 2 feet of the curb with the handle facing away from the curb and keep them at least 3 feet from cars, mailboxes, meters/backflow assemblies, and any other obstruction.
Please do not lean garbage bags or any other items against the bin. Items will not be collected if they are not in the bin with the lid closed.
Drain all liquids and place debris in trash bags.
Keep your container clean. Residents are responsible for washing bins as needed using a hose and mild soap.
Help reduce landfill waste: Keep clothing, linens, and other fabric items out of landfills by donating, selling, or repurposing them.
Place items so that they are not blocked by cars or other objects.
Avoid placing debris over lawn sprinklers and water meters.

Manatee County residents can drop off their household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic scrap (e-Scrap) on the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Lena Road Landfill (3333 Lena Road, Bradenton, FL 34211) free of charge.

HHW includes unwanted household products labeled as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or marked with warnings such as "danger," "warning," or "caution." These items should never be placed in your regular trash. The hauler will not collect them.

Bulk Item Pickup

To schedule a pickup, call 941-708-6340. Items must be placed curbside no later than 6:00 a.m. on your collection day.

The following items are considered bulk and are collected by request:

Appliances (refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, water heaters, freezers, washers & dryers)
Furniture (mattresses, sofas, box springs, upholstered chairs, armchairs, tables)
Electronics (stereo equipment, TVs, computers)
Tires (up to 4 per household; $5.00 fee per tire)
Garden equipment (must be emptied of fuel)

Not Accepted:

Propane tanks
Hazardous materials
Liquids

Fee: $10 flat rate per item, added to your utility bill.

IMPORTANT: You must call the City of Bradenton at 941-708-6340 within 48 hours of placing items at the curb to schedule your pickup. Failure to do so may result in a $300 illegal dumping fee.

Accessible Waste Collection Service

The City of Bradenton offers Accessible Solid Waste Collection Service at no additional charge for residential utility customers who are medically unable to bring their waste to the curb.

This courtesy service is intended to assist residents with disabilities who have no-able bodied person residing in the household who can take the trash to the curb. Solid Waste crews will collect the garbage container from an accessible area at the front of the home, dispose of the contents, and return the container to the same location.

Fees:

This service is provided at no additional cost to residential utility customers who qualify.

Eligibility:

To qualify, residents must:

Provide documentation verifying a permanent disability or medical need for the service.
Verify that there are no able-bodied individuals who reside in your residence that can deliver the solid waste to the curbside.

Your health care provider must fill out and sign their part of the form and you will fill out the rest.
