General Purpose of the Position: This is an administrative position responsible for the oversight and
management of the Body Worn Camera Program which include inventory, training, deployment, system evaluation, policy and procedure review and evaluation, and maintenance of the program's hardware and software systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide administration and overall maintenance of the body worn camera program.
• Assign and maintain inventory of body worn camera equipment.
• Assist end-users with troubleshooting basic technical equipment issues.
• Research and design departmental training programs.
• Coordinate with Information Technology staff, regarding system related issues.
• Responsible for routine functionality audits ensuring video evidence is properly uploaded and policies and procedures related to the BWC program are been followed.
• Responsible for maintaining body worn camera equipment to include cameras, docking stations, cables, etc. to include adequate supplies are on hand.
• Responsible for the replacement of damaged and/or lost equipment.
• Review and redact videos and ensure release is in accordance with federal, state, and local statutes, and established policies and procedures.
• Prepare, scan, and purge documents and files in compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and public records law; initiate any actions necessary to correct deviations.
• Assist personnel in the use and navigation of the BWC software to find specific video files and share files with authorized personnel and entities;
• Liaison with Axon and advise department on equipment upgrades, and any concerns or issues related to the BWC equipment;
• Research and develop records, reports, and other documentation related to assigned functions;
• Provide answers to inquiries to the general public, public officials, City employees or other individuals requesting assistance or public information;
• Be available during disaster related events, such as hurricanes, and special law enforcement operations or events.
• Ensure all body worn camera recording footage is properly cataloged and can be easily accessed and cross-referenced with case files.
• Review recordings to ensure that sensitive footage of victims and innocent bystanders is appropriately modified to protect their privacy and safety in accordance with FSS.
• Process evidence requests for the State Attorney's Office in criminal cases and all public record requests.
• Assist prosecutors in ensuring that all discovery requests are honored.
• Operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verify accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilize word processing, database, or other programs.
• Interact regularly with administration regarding team performance, strategy, metrics and results.
• Prepare reports and correspondence when required.
• Perform general clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, entering data into a computer, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, or preparing outgoing mail, packages, or receiving incoming mail.
• Perform other duties as assigned and related work as required.
Skills and Physical Abilities Required:
• Knowledge of agency policy, offense codes, court system, and legal procedures.
• Knowledge of state statutes pertaining to records management and confidentiality.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
• Ability to demonstrate a polite, helpful, courteous, and professional image when helping citizens and other employees and the ability to handle frequent interruptions.
• Knowledge of the operations of the department and responsibilities of the overall organization.

• Very frequent walking, standing, bending, occasional kneeling.
• Very frequent light lifting and carrying (less than fifteen {15} pounds), frequent moderate lifting (less than forty-four {44} pounds).
Extensive knowledge of: operation of BWC equipment and software, data processing and office equipment including desktop and laptop computer, printer, facsimile, copy machine, calculator, as well as equipment and current computer programs to access and utilize body worn camera video; video redaction techniques; ability to process public and intra agency video record requests.
Ability to: plan work, organize tasks; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the general public; prepare and present clear and concise reports both orally and in writing; maintain records using a variety of source materials; understand and follow complex oral and written instructions; adapt to developed software for future technology as required by the job.
Preferred Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in criminology, criminal justice, public administration, business administration or a related field; with three (3) years of experience
