“These investments will go a long way in helping us face and fix the infrastructure challenges impacting our community,” said Mayor Gene Brown. “We’re grateful to Governor DeSantis, our state delegation, and influential community partners for recognizing the importance of this work for the health, safety, and future of Bradenton.”
City Administrator Rob Perry noted the historic nature of this award: “This is a historic level of funding for the City of Bradenton. Securing $8.3 million in one budget cycle reflects the quality of our project planning and the importance of strengthening systems that protect public health, reduce flooding, and build long-term resiliency for our community.”
The selected projects were carefully identified and prioritized based on their broad community benefits, including flood mitigation, environmental protection, water quality improvements, and neighborhood sustainability.
“This funding reflects what can be accomplished when we work together across all levels, from City Council to engaged community leaders, to present a strong case for smart infrastructure investment,” Mayor Brown added. “Bradenton is facing our challenges head-on, and this funding will enable us to move forward with solutions that will serve residents for generations.”
