Temporary Water Advisory for City of Bradenton Residents
BRADENTON, FL – Due to the storm surge from Hurricane Helene, which breached the impoundment dam of the Braden River, the City of Bradenton is actively addressing exceedances for meeting secondary drinking water standards, such as chloride, and expect to do so for a limited period. Water meets all primary drinking water standards. City staff is working diligently to correct the situation in collaboration with Manatee County and Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Our goal is, and always has been, to provide you a safe and dependable supply of drinking water, however, during this time, the water may have a different taste and/or color. Rigorous testing will continue as we monitor the situation. The City continues to encourage water conservation during this unprecedented time and will provide bottled water distribution at three separate locations throughout the City, should you prefer this option.
Bottled water for City of Bradenton residents will be available on Saturday, September 28, and Sunday, September 29, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the following locations:
- Wakeland Elementary – 1801 27th Street East
- 1000 – 1200 block of 3rd Ave West
- G.T. Bray Park - 5502 33rd Avenue West (entrance from 59th St West)
