Annual Backflow Testing

Federal law requires water suppliers to protect their water systems from contamination or pollution by cross-connections. Backflow preventers must be tested at least once each year to ensure that they are performing properly in preventing backflow. When necessary they must be repaired in order to assure proper operation.

The City of Bradenton will only accept backflow certifications from plumbers or testers that have supplied  copies of their plumbing license, backflow certification, liability insurance and current calibration of equipment.

A list of certified potable backflow testers and assembly service providers and certified fireline backflow testers and assembly service providers is available by calling Morgan Herbert at 941-708-6300 x221 or Phillip Campbell at 941-462-1995 x243 or by emailing Phillip.Campbell@bradentonFL.gov
