The Department of Planning & Community Development supports and directs those City activities related to the quality of our lives today, and plans for logical and healthy City growth and redevelopment to protect that quality of life for future generations. Successful community development needs successful planning. The department houses five divisions that encompass everything from construction plans review, permitting, inspections, compliance with city code, mapping and annexations, variance requests and the administration of Community Development Block Grants. Building Division

From the idea in your head to the plans review, to the permitting and the inspection, our Building Division knows the ordinances to which your project must adhere and how to shepherd you and/or your builder through the entire process.
