Public Works & Utilities

The overall mission of the Public Works & Utilities Department is to develop, maintain and operate an efficient infrastructure system serving the City of Bradenton, and to effectively provide water, sewer and sanitation services to our residents. Maintenance of City parks and various City buildings is also included in the Public Works Department mission. Specific goals and objectives, identified by the Mayor and Council, as they relate to Public Works, are developed and implemented by the Department. The Public Works & Utilities Department also advises the Mayor, Council or other City departments on infrastructure, service and other public works related matters as required.

Solid Waste Services

How will you continue to recycle after curbside pickup is suspended? What should you NOT place in the new recycling convenience centers we are planning? Where will the new containers be placed? What about yard waste - do you have to tie the bundle or not? Should you place your clippings in a bag? How can you get your bulk items collected? You have questions, we have answers.

Capital Projects

See a project happening around town and wondering what it’s all about? We’ll do our best to keep you informed here.

Drinking Water

The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) of 1974 set monitoring requirements for drinking water treatment plants. Here are Drinking Water Quality Reports that provide information about your source water and analysis results.

City Parks

We are so proud of our amazing parks, and they are getting even better every day. Read about them here … from our award-winning Riverwalk to the small neighborhood parks located just where you live. You'll find Pickleball, community gardens and Little Free Libraries in our parks. Read about our parks here.

Clean Waterways

The City of Bradenton is built on the banks of a beautiful natural treasure in the Manatee River. We understand the importance of taking care of our river, and we strive to do everything in our power to maintain its important functions to our City - recreation, relaxation, transportation. It's beautiful, and we work every day to keep it that way. Here are important links about water quality and records of our reportable events to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
