Public Works & Utilities

During and after a severe weather event, additional updates can be found in our Severe Weather Information Center.

The overall mission of the Public Works & Utilities Department is to develop, maintain and operate an efficient infrastructure system serving the City of Bradenton, and to effectively provide water, sewer and sanitation services to our residents. Maintenance of City parks and various City buildings is also included in the Public Works Department mission. Specific goals and objectives, identified by the Mayor and Council, as they relate to Public Works, are developed and implemented by the Department. The Public Works & Utilities Department also advises the Mayor, Council or other City departments on infrastructure, service and other public works related matters as required.

Clean Waterways

The City of Bradenton is built on the banks of a beautiful natural treasure in the Manatee River. We understand the importance of taking care of our river, and we strive to do everything in our power to maintain its important functions to our City - recreation, relaxation, transportation. It's beautiful, and we work every day to keep it that way. Here are important links about water quality and records of our reportable events to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
