Things To Do
We are so proud of our community and the myriad things to do that can be found on any given day and time. There's always plenty of nature to be found, events around town, art and science and sports. Ecologically based volunteer opportunities offer another way to get outside and serve your community at the same time. If you are a fan of public art - we are! - there is plenty of that to be had around downtown. According to our friends at Realize Bradenton, our downtown area has 67 pieces of public art, 25 historic sites and 155 places to eat, shop, stay and play.
If your main mode of exploration is walking, check out Walk Bradenton to learn how to find and explore all those things downtown.
Always a good place to get started with the planning of your Bradenton adventure is Realize Bradenton. This vibrant, energetic, non-profit group has overseen the installation of the public art around town, hosts the Farmer's Market for six months a year, as well as the annual ArtSlam, the Bradenton Blues Festival and so much more. Realize Bradenton maintains an event calendar that showcases many events, shows and interesting happenings around our area.
Close to downtown, it's easy to spot the Village of the Arts, which encompasses the area from 9th Ave West to 17th Ave West between 9th St West and 14th St West. Colorful houses, galleries and live/work studios beckon art lovers, casual shoppers and even just the curious to come on it and check out the Village of the Arts. There's plenty to discover downtown as well, with fine food & drink, shopping and entertainment along Old Main Street and along the Riverwalk.
